Youth League Lacrosse is a spring sport, typically late February through May. We are offering 2 registration options this year: CILAX and St. Louis. 

CILAX (central IL lacrosse) is considered more local with opponents that could include, but not limited to: Washington, Bloomington, Decatur, and Quad Cities. These teams may compete in 1 or 2 Chicago tournaments, if available. We have participated in CILAX for years.

St. Louis is our new option this year featuring 6 continuous weeks of 2 guaranteed back to back games on either Saturday or Sunday with a 7th week of playoffs/championship games. Travel time is 3 hours, one way. We are offering STL to better prepare our players for high school lacrosse. Players will have new competition opportunities, something we don't get a large variety with in our local area. These games will also be played on turf fields. Participating in STL will depend 100% on registration numbers.

Know that we will do our best to accommodate all players, new and returning, based on their playing needs. 

Once registered, communication to parents and players occurs via the Sports Engine app. It's very important you tune in to these notifications. You can find it for free in any app store.

We had a record number of registrations in 2023 totaling nearly 130 kids!

Late February until Spring break will host indoor practices at The Yard on Sundays and Wednesdays. Specific age group time blocks have not been decided at this time.

Outdoor practice is twice per week, Tuesdays and Thursdays, for 60 to 90 minutes, depending on age level, with the exception of 14U boys who will also practice on Wednesdays.

After Spring break, practice moves outside to Detweiller Park. Outdoor practice is held in all weather, as long as there is no lightning. Dress appropriately.

Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30pm-7:00pm at Detweiller Park with the exception of 14U boys also practicing on Wednesdays at the same time.

Games are tournament style, with multiple games on a single weekend day.  Due to the lack of team density in Central Illinois, for CILAX games some game travel is necessary, typically within 90 minutes of Dunlap. 

Games are most weekends starting in April going to the weekend before Memorial Day weekend. Spring break has no games scheduled.

Gear Rental

Players may rent gear during their first season of play, so they may try it out before making a significant investment.  There will be a deposit taken equal to the purchase cost of the rented gear, which will be refunded at end of season when it is all returned to the Dunlap Lacrosse program.
